ISD 166 to pivot to hybrid model for Middle School

Some good news coming out of ISD 166 is that middle school students will be returning to the classroom Tuesday through Fridays starting Tuesday, March 2.

Mondays will be a check-in day for distance learners and homeroom students.

ISD 166 acting Superintendent Megan Myers sent an email with the announcement to Boreal Access on Friday, February 12.

Two meetings were scheduled to discuss the pivot from full-time online school to the hybrid model. The first meeting was February 15, with the second meeting planned for February 20, at 4 p.m. That meeting can be accessed through a link posted on the school’s website.

Teachers will be in planning sessions February 25 and 26 to help with the return of students to the classroom.

The decision to send kids back to school was made by the incident command team on Thursday, February 11.

“Students will have the option to continue in distance learning if their family chooses that path,” Myers said.

In her email to the community Myers stated, “We look forward to having our Middle School students back in the building.”
