ISD 166 school board members received some good news at their November 18 school board meeting. Despite the pall cast by the pandemic, plenty of people (and organizations) have been giving generously to school district. Below are the 22 donations received this month:
John Peterson donated $2,300 to Melissa Oberg’s class for Cathi’s Cart. GM Auto Parts ($50), ACE Home Center ($100), Lutsen ($100) Joy and Company ($100), Duvall family ($500), First & Second Thrift Store ($90.56 & $211.21), and Mary and Doug Sanders ($200) all donated to the school’s Robotics program.
The Larsen Youmans Family Charitable Family Fund gave $500 to Mila Horak for art supplies and Hugh J. Anderson gave $2,000 to the school’s athletic fund.
Ann Sullivan donated $178.48 for parade items and North Shore Collaborative gave $4,500 for Growing Great Kids. A Frank DiMaio Kids Plus grant of $1,000 was awarded to the school’s Forest Education program while First & Second Thrift Store gave $1,990.63 to athletics. First & Second also donated $140.88 to the elementary student council.
The Cook County Co-op contributed $1,000 for the Culinary Arts Herb Garden and Geraldine Jensen gave $100 to the General fund. Someone donated $2,000 to the band for instruments and repairs and North Shore Music Association also gave $1,000 to the band program for instrument and repairs. Bethlehem Lutheran Church gave $200 for Student Success and Karen Smaby donated $3,000 to ECFE.
