ISD 166 bond and levy gets our vote!

Since 1999 the ISD 166 Education Foundation, composed of a broad spectrum of community members, has secured financial support from donations and our annual E.A.T.S. event, a silent auction and fundraiser held in March. All of the proceeds are available by request to educators who need funds that will enhance students’ education beyond what the school district budget can normally provide.

It has become apparent that over the last 17 years of our foundation’s operation, that state educational funding has changed significantly, and now many expenditures once a part of the school district’s budget can no longer be funded. Recently, as an example, the foundation provided a significant portion of the funding for a teacher-training program to support reading instruction.

Our foundation’s charter does not permit us to spend dollars for building improvements, infrastructure or salaries, and regardless we don’t have the funds to do so. Our board members are familiar with the compelling financial needs of ISD 166. Due to our knowledge of both the increased need and the types of support staff ask us to consider, we support both the bond and levy questions on the November 8 ballot.

Strong schools are a critical part of strong communities. Please join us in supporting our students.

Vote yes and yes!
