IRRRB supports three Cook County EDA projects




The Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) awarded the Cook County/Grand Marais Economic Development Authority (EDA) three grants totaling $600,000 at its Monday, Oct. 17 meeting.

IRRRB grants include $200,000 that will be put toward the $891,403 project to renovate and construct an addition on the Cook County Airport arrival/departure building; $100,000 for infrastructure and site work to support a $2.3 million seven single-family unit housing development in Grand Marais; and $300,000 toward an $844,585 project to renovate and reconstruct the Superior National (Canyon section) golf course.

All told the IRRRB granted $44.5 million for infrastructure development grants and loans across the Northland at its October meeting.

IRRRB is a state economic development agency headquartered in Virginia, Minnesota whose mission is to promote and invest in business, community workforce development for the betterment of northeastern Minnesota.

The mission of the Cook County/ Grand Marais EDA is to diversify the economy and create year-round, livable wage jobs for Cook County.
