I am a 70-plus retiree on a fixed income who is going to vote for the public schools tax increase. In fact, I wish it were higher.
Our seven grandchildren include one in law school, one teaching in Turkey, two in the middle of their college work, two are finishing their high school years at the top of their class and number 7 is going into second grade.
We are extremely proud of these youngsters and the credit belongs to the many and varied school systems they have attended. Theyare part of our nations’ economic and social future! Past generation investments are paying off!
I hope our “senior citizens” do not feel they have paid for their children and should not need to do so now. This would be an insult to the young people of today, as well as not being factually correct.
Check the dictionary for a definition of “civilization.”—A relatively high level of cultural and technological development.
