Future plans for many cities and towns include making them more walkable, and for Grand Marais, that future is upon us.
With the help of the Arrowhead Regional Development Center and assistance from the community, the city will begin developing a pedestrian plan his fall.
What is a pedestrian plan? Once done, the plan identifies the transportation needs of people moving at a walking pace and suggests infrastructure, maintenance strategies and policies to address those needs.
Please help the city identify important destinations in the community to be connected by pedestrian routes.
Interactive maps will be available to gather input until September 21, at Grand Marais City Hall, the Cook County Courthouse, Grand Marais Public Library, the Cook County Community YMCA and the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Atrium.
An online input opportunity to provide your feedback is also available at ardc.org/grandmaraiswalks.
