Inalienable rights

As Americans we pride ourselves for holding certain rights as self evident, among which is the right to life. It is the right for all people, regardless of origin and status, to live a life with all its ups and downs, and not only the right for a few to live a way of life of their own choosing. Essential to life is food, shelter, and health. We cannot claim that we uphold the right to life without respecting and providing these three elements for all people. It seems that the people who have sworn to uphold this constitutional right and work for the implementation for all people are interpreting their oath to mean making an ever-enriching way of life for themselves by ignoring the people, or even worse, on the back of the people!

History tells us that we have disrespected this right and instead slaughtered each other in the most cruel ways in the name of life!

Eliminating groups of people, assigning people to reservations, exterminating people in ovens, or killing them by flying into towers, are provocative reminders of our terrorist ways. We like to think that they are of the past, yet today we witness terrorism in many different ways more subtle than the horrors of the past. This does not mean that terror today is less horrible than before. To deprive people of their right to life is a form of terrorism. To deprive people of their right to health, thus causing poverty, suffering, and eventual death, is terrorism in a most subtle and cruel way. Especially when it is presented in the guise of health care!

Terrorism is running rampant by the people in government today. We need to stop their way of life for the sake of life itself – for all people.
