Iconic Northshore hiking destination needs volunteers for trail and water crossing improvements

The Superior Hiking Trail Association is improving water crossings and building boardwalk this summer to make the trail more sustainable and hiker friendly. The Association is in need of 200 volunteers over the next six weeks in several locations from Duluth on up the North Shore.

The Superior Hiking Trail is an incredible community asset that has connected hundreds of thousands of people to the North Shore. The trail bolsters the quality of life for locals and plays a vital role in the regional recreational tourism economy by attracting thousands of visitors annually.

Join us to see the Trail in a whole new way! Volunteer Brandie Myhre says that her volunteer experience on the SHT “opened my eyes to a whole new world and a whole new side of hiking. I have a much deeper appreciation for the trails I walk on now and would highly, highly suggest if you too like to recreate to start volunteering.”

More information is available at www.superiorhiking.org/volunteer. People interested in volunteering this season can find registration information and a full list of our Trail Renewal Projects on our website with registration links. No experience necessary! All training and tools will be provided by SHTA.
