TheCook County Community Center will begin open indoor ice skating on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 7 p.m. There will be some new ice skates available for rental this year as well.
Cost to skate is $2 per time up to $10 for a family. Skate rentals will be $1 per time. Indoor ice skating schedules will be available on the Boreal Access calendar, printed and available at the Community Center, library, schools, courthouse, and in the Cook County News-Herald.

The usual hours will be (Oct. 23 through Nov. 21): Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 7 p.m.; Tuesday 4:30 – 7 p.m.; and Friday 3:15 – 7 p.m.Call 387-3015 for additional information.
In addition, Deb Mueller will be teaching beginning and advanced beginning ice skating lessons this year. Six lessons and two practice sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 26, 28, Nov. 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, and 18. Beginners from 3:30 to 4 p.m. and advanced beginners from 4 to 4:30 p.m. Skates can be provided for the lessons. Call 387-3015 to sign up or stop by theCommunity Center. Cost is $60.
