Care Partners of Cook County’s second annual Ice Cream Social at Sydney’s Frozen Custard was great fun. The rain stopped and over a hundred people came out to enjoy sundaes, chair massages from Lutzen Reflections, and bid on silent auction items. Susan Gardner of Lutsen and New York won the beautiful quilt made by Carol Harris.

All together over $5,300 was raised to support programs for those on the journey of aging, serious illness and end-of-life. It was also a time to appreciate Care Partners volunteers and its programs to help seniors maintain their health and independence, including a new Dementia Friendly Community initiative.

Many thanks to all who came out to support Care Partners and to the event sponsors: Sydney›s Frozen Custard, Lutzen Reflections Massage Studios, Red Pine Realty, Joynes Ben Franklin, Ryden’s Border Store, Northern Wilds Media, Sawbill Canoe Outfitters, Sivertson Gallery and Sweetgrass Cove. Thank you as well to our silent auction donors: Attorney Ruthanne Hedstrom Vos, Crooked Spoon, Great Gifts, Harbor House Grille, Kathy Reeves, Mary Bebie, Studio 61 Hair Design, The Blue Moose, Wellspring Therapy and WTIP.
