I.S.D. 166 suffers first confirmed case of COVID-19

I.S.D. 166 Acting Superintendent Megan Myers reported on Thursday, April 8, that the school had its first confirmed case of COVID-19.

Said Myers, “We have been in close communications with our public health professionals that have supported our communications and contact tracing within our staff and students in our essential student care. Along with our public health partners, we have and will be connecting with the families and those affected by this case.”

Myers said the school was following procedures and protocols put in place to ensure that a minimum number of people in the school would be affected.

The school has a COVID-19 plan that follows CDC and MDH guidelines and is continually working with the public health team to reevaluate procedures and protocols.

“Please remember to have unconditional positive regard for those who have been tested and contact traced as this is unintentional and we must support each other in these tough situations,” stated Myers.
