I. S.D. 166 reports second confirmed case of COVID-19

Cook County School District I.S.D. 166 reported its second case of COVID-19, but acting Superintendent Megan Myers said the second case is not related to the first incident.

In an email to the public, Myers stated that the school district has been in close contact with the county public health professionals. These are the same health officials who have worked with the school district to support the district’s communication and contact tracing for staff and students who are in essential student care.

“We are following our procedures and protocols to ensure that a minimum number of people in the school community is affected,” reported Myers.

The school will continue to work with the public health team to diligently evaluate and re-evaluate procedures and protocols, Myers said, adding, “Our focus is to ensure the safety of all staff, students, and the community.”
