I.S.D. 166 receives donations

Over the past two months Cook County I.S.D. 166 has received 17 generous donations from area clubs and individuals that will be used to support student activities. These donations fill a need that can’t always be met by the school district.

Five of the donations came from the Cook County Education Foundation and are as follows: $100 was given towards district printing costs; $1,000 for the Common Ground Summit; $1,120 for Laptops for Learning; $500 for the CCHS Book Project; and $370 was given to help pay the cost of the boating safety class.

The Booster Club gave $690.74 towards a PT/OT room. A $300 grant from the Fiber Guild was used for the Senior Book Project. Ruby’s Pantry donated $250 to the school as a thank you for using the high school cafeteria to conduct its operation.

Ann Sullivan gave $120 for Laptops for Learning; the American Legion Post 413 donated $100 to the choir; $80 was received from Lake County Soil and Water for an Envirothon gas stipend; the North Shore Community Swing Band gifted $400 to the band for band supplies; $334.32 was given by the PTA to purchase planners (a small book like a calendar where you write down your appointments and things to do list); Lake County donated $433.35 to purchase a piano dolly for the choir; Terry Backlund gave $1,400 in support of the CO Backlund Scholarship; and Michelle Whaley gave $20 for the Seeds of Change program.
