Hwy 61 Grand Portage project substantially complete
Construction on Hwy 61 in Grand Portage is now substantially complete. Handrails for the stairway near the Grand Portage Trading Post will be installed once their fabrication is finished.
This two-year project resurfaced Hwy 61 through Grand Portage, repaired and replaced box culverts, built a new bridge at Hollow Rock Creek, and improved intersection and pedestrian safety. MnDOT appreciates the public’s patience with lane closures during construction.
