For as long as North Shore residents can remember area gravel pits have been available for shooting target practice. Due to safety concerns in recent years, the U.S. Forest Service and Minnesota Department of Resources have been closing gravel pits and shooting enthusiasts have been hard pressed to find places to sight weapons and target practice. A group of local residents have banded together to see if it is feasible to develop a shooting range in Cook County. The group, dubbed Flintlock Range, would like your input.
The group is conducting a survey to gauge citizen interest in developing a shooting range. They invite the public to take the survey, as well as to share it with friends and neighbors who may be interested.
