Join one of Cook County’s favorite bands at Hovland Town Hall for an all-ages community potluck and dance Nov. 19. The event is sponsored by the North Shore Music Association.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a potluck, followed by a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets at the door are $8 adults, $5 kids 6 and up; kids 5 and under are free. The Hovland Town Hall is located at 4957 E. Highway 61.
Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share, plus your own plates and utensils.
Featured at the dance will be the Splinters: Bill Hansen, guitar/ vocals; Leah Thomas, accordion/vocals; Rick Brandenberg, drums; Jeff DeShaw, bass; and Holly Harwig, vocals/percussion. According to the Splinters, the band plays an “uppity brew of zydeco, celtic rock, electric polka, tex mex, obscure and original dance tunes. The band has been “shakin’ the shack” locally and regionally for over 16 years.
