House fire a great training opportunity

The Grand Marais Fire Department would like to thank all those who helped with the live training burn conducted on July 11. This was an excellent and invaluable opportunity for the Fire Department to receive training and experience in attacking a live interior structure fire.

Those who helped include the Cook County Sheriff ‘s Office, US Forest Service, Grand Marais First Responders, Cook County Ambulance, the instructors from the Mesabi Range Technical and Community College, and most of all Lloyd Speck for the donation and opportunity to use the house for training.
