I wish to express my gratitude to the entire staff of North Shore Health. My father, John Woerheide, has had numerous stays in the hospital over the past two years. His final stay ended on Father’s Day with his peaceful passing.
The doctors, nurses and aides, lab tech, physical therapy and receptionist people were so understanding and helpful. They treated him with respect and gave exceptional care as his strength faded and he needed more and more basic care. His comfort was the main focus and I am sure he hit the call button many times. No one ever expressed exasperation or shortness, or refused to help.
Our family’s experience with North Shore Health was far more personal and caring than we experienced in Duluth at a bigger hospital. On my Dad’s last day on Earth we were notified and the family made it to the hospital to be with him in his room. We were given coffee, cookies and privacy to be with Dad in his last hours.
My feelings about our hospital have changed over 21 years. We have a top rate facility and the best people. It makes me Cook County Proud.
