Every year the Hopped Up Caribou Beer Festival delivers on its promise of fun, food, music and most importantly, its promise of great beer. This year should be no exception.
The seventh annual three-day Hopped Up Caribou Beer Festival begins on July 14 with a four-course beer and food dinner that is being coordinated with the chefs at the lodge and the owner of Beaver Island Brewing Co. in St. Cloud. While you eat and enjoy your special ale, Cook County’s Most Wanted will be performing. On Saturday, following the afternoon beer garden where a wide variety of specialty beers will be offered, there will be a buffet dinner also featuring live music.
One of the featured vendors this year is Grand Marais Voyageur Brewing Co. Voyageur will join another North Shore brewery, Castle Danger Brewery in Two Harbors, whose beer will also be highlighted. If you aren’t a guest at Caribou Highlands you can purchase tickets to the Friday and Saturday meals for $49.95. In addition to the weekend festival packages, the resort is offering lodging packages for the weekend. Other activities around the weekend offered by Caribou Highlands include a scavenger hunt, and the nearby alpine slides, gondola rides, and for those who want something other than beer, there is the North Shore Winery located just down the Ski Hill Road.
