Around a hundred people gathered Monday, February 15 at the North House Folk School for an evening organized by Spirit of the Wilderness Episcopal Church. One end of the room was an array of potluck items, including old favorites, like Tater-Tot hot dish and slow baked beans.

On the other end, a rousing group of musicians played. Donating their time and talents were Bump Blomberg (bottom right) and Timmy Haus, the Pincushion Mountain Warblers—Barbara Jean Johnson and Nathan Baker (middle right)—and the debut of a new group—The Cascade Mountain Syrup Lickers, which includes Jessa Wallendahl, Eric Frost, Bill Hansen, Jim Elverhoy.

A number of folks got up and began to kick up their mukluks. A couple of middle aged dancers reported being sore the next day!

Toward the end of the evening, all the musicians played together and their sound was amazing. So much talent and generosity and joy in community.

Over $1,300 was raised and will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development in Haiti and Habitat for Humanity’s work in Haiti.

Jesus said, “Give and you will receive, and it will be abundant…” That’s what the evening felt like! Thanks to all who joined in and especially to the musicians.
