Enjoying a trip to Isle Royale in the summer of 1969 was the Renneisen family (L-R) Erin, Mary (in front), mom Patsy, Jean in the polka dot hat, dad Frank, Dave, and Tim. Susan Frankowski was with the family, but not in the picture because she took it. Also missing was her brother Paul who had to miss the trip because he had a summer job at Isak Hansen Hardware. Susan, of Caribou Lake and Minneapolis, recalled that this was one of the last family trips, as all of the children eventually took summer jobs. Memories of Isle Royale like this will be shared on Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Isle Royale Families and Friends Association (IRFFA) winter meeting at Barkers Island Inn in Superior, WI. For information about the gathering, contact David C. Barnum at (847) 727-2446 or dcbarnum@gmail.com.
