Cook County News-Herald archives This 1981 News-Herald photo shows Charles Skinner, owner of Lutsen Mountain Corporation, standing by the first condominium building being constructed by Ryan Development Corporation at the ski hill. The building was the first in their joint $25 million development at Lutsen. The News-Herald caption said, “In the background, Moose Mountain stands, a future site of 17 new ski slopes. When this is complete, the project will be the largest of its kind in the upper Midwest.”
