This photo is from Mary Bally’s scrap book and was taken around 1925 at the Ashburn Field air show. The US Army TC-3 Class Blimp was used for parasitic fighter trials conducted in 1923-24. The parasite fighter planes were air launched by carrier aircraft to support primary missions. A single biplane was equipped with a skyhook to engage the control carriage of the blimp using a temporary trapeze connection.
