This is Bill Bally and my mother, Virginia Schultz Modl, outside the Bally house in the late 1940s. My mom visited the Bally family often during her four years at Saint Scholastica in Duluth. Mom and Bill Bally were kindred spirits and enjoyed many wonderful adventures together. The Cook County Historical Society is hosting a special open house at the Bally Blacksmith Shop in Grand Marais on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10am to 4pm.
