Historical Reflections

Richard Fink of Hungry Jack Lake and LaCrosse, Wisconsin shared this photo of his father, James Russell Fink, MD in 1944 at the age of 35, putting Richard down for a nap on a balsam bed. Richard was 2 ½ at the time. Richard said, “His love of wilderness and the Gunflint Trail was overflowing, and it subsequently enveloped my mother, their children and their friends and family. While he died in 1985, his grandchildren and even his great grandchildren share his love of wilderness and the Gunflint Trail today.”
