Displaying one of the earliest limits of walleye brought back to Grand Marais on opening day are, from left, Harry Peterson, Lee Cramblet and Ken Kimball. The trio was fishing with minnows on Devil Track Lake on May 10, 1972. Because of lake ice it was reported that the number of fishermen was about half of what it usually is on opening weekend, but Saganaga and Seagull lakes produced some of the largest catches in years.
