In this Jan. 19, 1961 photo, Cook County High School ski team coach Robert Kruse, left, talks with his ski team co-captains Bill Tormondsen, center, and Kenneth Nelson, about some of the finer points of ski racing. The team performed well at a meet held in Ely the following week, led by Terry Cathcart who won first place in the slalom, and teammates Jim Toftey and Barrney Peet, who took third and fourth places in the event.
