Historical Reflections

Shown in this November 1981 photo are the cooks and carvers in the kitchen at the First Congregational Church, as they add the finishing touches to the church’s annual community Thanksgiving dinner. The first community dinner was held in 1975, and was attended by about 40 people. Participation grew to over 100 people just six years later. The Grand Marais tradition continues today, with an even bigger turnout and variety of offerings.
