Sandy Everson, a five-year clerk at the Grand Marais post office, was named postmaster in April 1981. She took over on May 1, becoming the first woman postmaster in Grand Marais’ history. Everson succeeded Morrie Quaife, who was postmaster for 25 years and recently retired.
