Historical Reflections

Shown in this photo published Oct. 8, 1970 are Congressman Clark MacGregor, who posed in front of the East Bay Hotel with, from left, daughters Susan and Laurie, Mrs. MacGregor, and Dottie Griffith of Lutsen. The photo was taken during Fisherman’s Picnic, when the MacGregors were in Grand Marais to participate in the parade. Mrs. Griffith was baby sitter and part-time office worker for four years. MacGregor opposed Vice President Hubert Humphrey for the U.S. Senate seat in the Nov. 3 election, and returned to Cook County in the fall to do some campaigning, as did Congressman John Blatnik.
