This Minnesota Historical Society photo is described simply as “Children climbing lookout tower near Grand Marais.” Does anyone know who the children are in this picture from the MHS Photograph Collection ca. 1940? And what tower are they climbing?

We have heard from several readers questioning the identification of the man on the far left in the April 18 Historical Reflections photograph. It was believed to be Irv Benson, but many long-time Gunflint Trail residents say it is not. Long-time Saganaga resident Dick Powell thinks the man is Norby Mayer, who now lives in King, WI. Norby, is that you?
