A new electrical substation went online in Colvill on October 12, 2000. Jon Cress, operations superintendent for Arrowhead Electrical Cooperative said the new substation would take some of the load off of the Maple Hill substation. According to Cress, the Maple Hill substation received a new 7,500 KVA transformer and the 5,000 KVA transformer there was moved to Colvill. Employees of Great River Energy were on hand to energize the new substation (L-R) Rory Miller, Harry Weiss, Bob Moen and Randy Hiipakka.
