Mary McElevey, longtime organizer of Julefest at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, suggested we share this photo, which appeared in the Cook County News-Herald on December 22, 1986. The caption reads: Looking sharp in their traditional Scandinavian outfits are (L-R) Dave Peterson, Ingjerd Lehn Johanson, AFS student from Norway, Ethel Johnson and Bertha Toftey. Bertha’s dress came from Norway at the turn of the century. The four took part in the St. Lucia Day celebration held at Bethlehem Lutheran in Grand Marais. This year’s Julefest celebration will be Saturday, December 14. The Julefest program begins at 1 p.m.
