Historical Reflections

The Schroeder Area Historical Society (SAHS) took on a huge task when it acquired the Cross River General Store from the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The building, which housed Bill Jordan’s Lake Superior Sausage Company for many years, was once the Stickney Inn. The old building has been transformed to house pieces of Schroeder history as the Cross River Heritage Center. The historical society recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in the building. The Cross River Heritage Center is open 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through MEA weekend.
