The Cook County News-Herald quietly celebrated another anniversary last week. Our community newspaper reached its 121st anniversary in publication. Since the News- Herald held a big party last year for its 120th anniversary, we simply updated the volume and issue number this year. You will note that the front of the paper now reads Vol. 122 No. 3. In recognition of the anniversary however, we thought it would be meaningful to run this photo of former editors John Blackwell (left) and Ade Toftey. The quality of the photo is not great, but it means a lot to all of us at the News-Herald because it came from the collection of another News-Herald old-timer, the late Dick Gilbertsen.
