Historical Reflections








As we enjoy a warmer than normal spring, it is fun to look back to see if there were similar conditions in years past. The April 15, 1991 Cook County News-Herald noted that “Unusually warm weather was welcomed by winter weary residents when spring made an early appearance.” As evidence, there were pictures of Don Sorlie exercising his dogs by tossing sticks in ice-free Devil Track Lake; Tim Osthus practicing his skateboarding techniques (above) and a Kakebeka Falls, Ontario couple, Scott Kennedy and Sandy Leiterman, hiking near Devil’s Kettle.
