Historical Reflections

Many people remember Leng’s Fountain. Ken Skoog, a longtime North Shore resident now living in Cartersville, Georgia remembered that Leng’s Fountain was a business that catered to kids. He said, “A single scoop ice cream cone was a nickel. If you could afford a milkshake for 15 cents, the paper wrap over the straw usually ended up stuck to the ceiling. That was done by licking one end of the wrapper and using the straw as a kind of blowgun.” This photo of the fountain’s counter captures the image of some people in the mirror—can anyone identify them?
