Historical Reflections

This delightful photo was taken on the deck above Mable Stoltz’s garage, about 40 years ago. Ralph Johnson, who shared the picture with the News- Herald, is the young man with the punch cup on his head. Next to him on the right is Buck Benson. Becky Johnson Kaiser is on the other end of the bench and Ralph said he believes that Mark Johnson, his sister Susan, and Ralph Larsen are also on the bench. Linda Hedstrom is in the back. Johnson said he can’t identify any other kids and he didn’t know if this was a birthday party, or, he said, “It might have just been Mable giving a party for the kids in the neighborhood.” Do you know who is in this photo?

In the June 4, 2011 Historical Reflections photo, we misspelled the name of one of the baseball players. The man in the front row, far left is Elmer Gilbertson. The News-Herald apologizes for the error.
