The annual “Food Day” was held May 1 and 2, 1981, sponsored by the Whole Foods Co-op and the Women’s Club. One of the workshops offered was “Trail Foods,” presented by Bill Hansen. Here he explains what all the ingredients are in gamush, a dried dinner he prepared for his talk. Shown from left are Hansen, Christy Buetow, Arvis Thompson, and Kaye and Mitchell Tavernier. Gamush, by the way, is a mixture of lentils, brown rice, vegetables and spices.
