A mother and daughter hiking duo got confused while hiking Pincushion Mountain trails in Grand Marais on July 2. After being lost for some time and unsure which direction to go when they reached a trail that offered three options, Agatha Smolecky, and Aggie Smolecky called Cook County Law Enforcement for help at 11:51 a.m.
Sheriff Deputies Julie Collman and Chris Schurpp responded, hiking the route it was believed that the women had taken.
The parties were eventually found between Pincushion Trails and Highway 61 at approximately mile marker 112 at 1:45 p.m.
