Cook County Higher Education is celebrating its 20th year of providing access to education and training to the residents of the North Shore! We invite you to celebrate with us on May 18 at 6:00 p.m. at Voyageur Brewing Company. The theme for the evening is “Looking Back, Looking Up!”
We will reflect on the stories and successes of Cook County Higher Education and those who have been involved in the organization. We will be sharing hopes, dreams, and visions for the next 20 years and beyond. There will be slideshows, stories, and live music. We will be providing the food–you get to buy beverages! (FYI: Voyageur also has pop available, if adult libations are not your beverage of choice.)
Cook County Higher Education has evolved over the past 20 years: new board members, new employees, new students, new locations, and new technologies are just a few of the changes. Some things, however, have stayed the same: our goal to provide local access to education and training on the North Shore, our commitment to serving our community, and our desire to create opportunities for residents of the North Shore to learn, grow, and engage.
In 2015, we served 83 students who were taking a combined 617 credits from 22 different schools, as well as 983 individuals who attended training and events–imagine this times 20 years! As a student of ours once said, “Most people hear about Higher Education and don’t actually realize what it is. I didn’t at first. Did you know they are there to help everyone?”
If you aren’t one of the people we have served over the past 20 years, you know someone we have helped via education support services, lifelong learning opportunities, and training programs.
We hope you share the stories of how Cook County Higher Education has shaped your life, a family member’s life, or your business. If you have received support from us, or have supported us or our students over the past 20 years, please attend this event or share those experiences with us.
