Higher Ed presents Google Tools on Oct. 25




Cook County Higher Education will present a workshop on Google

Tools from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the North Shore Campus, 300 W. Third St., Grand Marais.

John Bennett, an Extension educator from the University of Minnesota- Duluth, will explore a wide range of tools available free from Google to market your business and run it more efficiently. Some of the tools this three-hour workshop will explore are Google Sites to make simple web pages and Google Analytics to learn about traffic to your website. Workshop participants also will learn how to use Gmail, Calendar, Google Docs and Talk to make business operations more efficient. Participants will set up a Google account and try out the tools hands-on.

The workshop is designed for businesses, nonprofits and government agencies interested in using the Internet to inform their clients about products, services, features and attractions. Fee for the workshop is $10. Participants should bring their laptop computers. Internet access will be provided free of charge.
