Cook County Higher Education is offering free mental health workshops during May, Mental Health Awareness Month.
Included are a one-hour QPR-Suicide Prevention workshop on May 13 at both 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and an eight-hour Adult Mental Health Certification Training at 8 a.m. May 14. A free lunch will be provided.
The instructor will be Jode Freyholtz-London and Wellness in the Woods will be the facilitator. Jode has worked in the mental health field for 35 years and identifies as a person with a lived experience with mental health challenges. She has done mental health advocacy and educational seminars nationally in wellness and recovery concepts. She founded Wellness in the Woods in 2013 in response to the unique needs of rural Minnesotans.
