Higher Ed offers child development courses

Cook County Higher Education in collaboration with Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is offering three different Child Development certificates starting this fall in Grand Marais.

The certificates allow students to acquire knowledge and experience with specific age groups of children and may be used toward the State of Minnesota Child Care Provider education requirement. Students have the option of earning one, two, or all three certificates. Students may then choose to continue their education by using the credits earned in a certificate program as the foundation of an Associate of Arts degree. The certificates are: Infant and Toddler Child Development (17 credits)

Preschool Child Development (17 credits)

School Age Child Development (17 credits)

An information session will be held on Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Shore Campus in Grand Marais. Kathleen Hedberg, program director, will be available via interactive television to provide information about the program and to answer questions.

For more information and to pre-register for the information session, contact Cook County Higher Education at 387- 3411 or email highered@boreal.org.
