Too bad N95 type masks aren’t more widely available for those of us who are more socially responsible.
The way the pandemic is headed, with exponentially increasing infections, we will likely achieve ‘herd immunity’ before next spring when a vaccine is widely available.
What percentage of the US population actually became infected with the Spanish flu virus before herd immunity virtually ended the pandemic, as there was no vaccine available?
Nearly eleven million have been or are currently infected to date (11/15/20). The ‘experts’ say each person could infect 10-12 others. Many people are infected and don’t know it. Won’t be long before half of the US population could be infected. Those no longer infectious may have some level of immunity. An early limited amount of vaccine would help to protect essential workers, but the pandemic might be pretty much over by the time vaccine is available to the general population next spring. The potential virus victim pool could be pretty low by then.
