Henry H. Wehseler, 95-year-old resident of Little Falls, Minn. and formerly of Tofte, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls.
Henry was born on June 10, 1921 in St. Martin County to the late William and Josephine (Karash) Wehseler. He served in the CC at Beena Camp near Lake Winnibigoshish. He joined the U.S. Navy and served as an aviation machinist in the Solomon Islands during World War II.
He married Florence Kloss on Sept. 6, 1945 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, Minn. They lived at Sawbill Landing and later moved to Tofte where they built and operated the North Shore Market & Bottle Shop.
Henry is survived by his wife Florence of 71 years; sons Richard (Lori) of Duluth, Gary (Cindy) of St. Bonifacius, and Bill (Rita) of Tofte; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial and visitation were held Friday, Oct. 21 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. The Little Falls American Legion Post 46 and VFW Post 1112 conducted military rites.
