Henrietta M. Schoepflin, age 96, passed away on July 2, 2015, surrounded by loved ones at Vintage Park in Baldwin City, Kansas. She was born June 22, 1919 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Merle and Esther (Muzzy) Weible.
Henrietta graduated from Coffeyville Field-Kinley High School in 1938. She graduated from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas in 1941, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was also a member of PEO Sisterhood, Hestia Club, American Legion Auxiliary and other charitable organizations.
Henrietta was united in marriage to Homer Schoepflin on June 15, 1941 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Weible and Robert Weible.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen Schoepflin, Fairhope, Alabama and Roger Schoepflin (Brenda), Grand Marais; and a daughter, Janet Breithaupt (Terry), Grand Marais; grandchildren Stephen K. Schoepflin, Kevin Champaigne, Raquel Cox, Tracy Woolf, Jacob Schoepflin, Lindsey Jinright and Grant Breithaupt and 13½ great-grandchildren.
Henrietta was a third generation visitor to Grand Marais. Her childhood summers were spent here and she continued bringing her family for annual summer visits.
