Heidi Hansen earns Ph. D. from the University of Minnesota





 

 

Heidi Hansen,
formerly a math instructor at Cook County High School, has received a Ph. D. in curriculum and instruction, mathematics education, from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. Thedoctorate degree was officially awarded to her in July 2010.

Heidi graduated with a B.A. in mathematics from Concordia College, Moorhead, in 1989, and received a master’s degree in library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1994. She was a media specialist in the library at Cook County High before accepting a teaching position in the math department. Heidi took courses at Bemidji State University to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in math education, and then a master’s degree in the same field.

While earning her Ph.D Heidi worked as a research assistant and taught graduate students at the U of M. She subsequently accepted a position at Bemidji State University, where she is currently employed as an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
