Harriet J. (Boostrom) Taus,





 

 

Harriet J. (Boostrom) Taus, age 88, of North Minneapolis passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.

Harriet was born May 8, 1928 at Clearwater Lodge in the Boundary Waters to Charlie and Petra Boostrom.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a histotechnologist at North Memorial Medical Center for over 30 years.

Upon retirement her passion for sports led to her working in security for the Gophers, Vikings and the Twins.

She was an avid supporter of many causes, volunteering her time in many capacities for her church, Meals on Wheels, American Cancer Society and the Gunflint Trail Historical Society at Chik-Wauk Museum. She spent her retirement summers at her home on Clearwater Lake up the Gunflint Trail.

Harriet is survived by her children and their spouses, David (Barb) Taus, Marilyn (deceased)

Ken Dumdie) Taus, Janet (John) Gracyk, Karen (Tom) Ditty, Gayle Nomeland, Nancy (Greg) Vanasse and Leona (Steve) Cornish; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene Leonard of Grand Marais, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Harriet was preceded in death by husband, Herman; daughter, Marilyn; and eight siblings. Visitation was Wednesday, June 8, at Evans – Nordby Funeral Home, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, June 9, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Minneapolis. Interment is at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, New Hope, Minnesota.

Memorials in Harriet’s name may be made to the Gunflint Trail Historical Society (Chik-Wauk Museum), 28 Moose Pond Drive, Grand Marais, MN 55604.
