Happy Hikers will hike Leveaux Mountain on September 21, 2022
The Happy Hikers will hike this 3.2-mile loop to the top of Leveaux Mountain for several grand Lake Superior overlooks. We will have lunch at the campsite near the beginning of the trail (if there is space available), or back at the trailhead. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, on a leash.
Difficulty level: Moderate
Approximate distance: 3.2 miles
Meet at the YMCA parking lot near the tennis courts at 9:00 am. We’ll carpool to the trailhead, west of Grand Marais to the Onion River Rd, and go 2.2 miles to the parking lot on the left side of the road. Suggested donation for drivers: $3.
If you are coming from the west end and would like to meet us at the trailhead, be there around 9:20 a.m. Please let me know if you’re going to meet us there so we know to wait for you.
What to bring: Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, sturdy hiking shoes/boots, hiking poles, water, and a sack lunch.
